Marin's Alpine Trail is extremely popular among aggressive riders, it was only a matter of time until we saw the Alpine as an electric mountain bike. The E2 is the higher spec of the two Marin have released, though still based around the agile and capable series 4 aluminium frameset, MX (29""/27.5"") wheels and 160/150 travel. Handling suspension duty are the new burly Fox 38 Performance Elite forks and a DHX2 coil shock, both supremely strong and tuneable, ready to be dialled in and take a thrashing on the mountain.
Power comes from the new Shimano EP8 motor that delivers a smooth 250w of power and 80nm of torque, all powered by an integrated 630wh battery with enough juice to keep you blasting all day.
Other stand out components are the Shimano 1x12 gearing, powerful SLX 4-pot hydraulic disc brakes, either Maxxis or VEE tyres (depending on availability) and an X-Fusion dropper seat post.
